Well i already been started with the project 4 weeks ago, but never started a topic on P1woc.
As some ppl know I bought a donor STI from the UK with some minor front damage.
The car has run 36K miles and has PPP package with 320 BHP, DCCD etc.
Here are some pictures of the car, made on the way back home before entering the train to Calais.

4 Weeks ago we collected the P1 at Jdels place.
The car was completely stripped down to the bone and a lot of parts where already sold.
So I’m missing some things like the original fog lights that go in the front bumper.
I hope to find a OEM set somewhere at P1woc hopefully
(some pics at collection day)

Here is a scan of the Dutch DVLA(RDW) papers.
The car is registered as a Impreza P1 and she is the only one with that P1 on the papers.

Next update, the heating stuff
The heaterbox with climate parts and fan system is fitted.
We had to relocate some mounting brackets to fit it nicely into the P1
The P1 heaterbox is slightly ofcenter mounted, the STI one is exactly located in the middle.
Some pictures of the job

Fitted the STI beam back in the car to testfit the top part of the dashboard

The STI heaterbox is in correct place so we made the holes for the cooling pipes and airco Lines.
So ive cutted some metal out of the STI for that and welded it in the P1.
Also cutted a hole for the 70mm rubber of the engine wirings and welded that also in place at the P1.

Image

After that i have sprayed it in with zinc compound
Everything is in 2 layers of primer and need to dry for a few days
I have decided to respray the entire engine bay in 74F and after that refit the wirings etc.ink

After the first paint job we had to wait, so we took the P1 subframe from the car.
This will be replaced with the rearsubframe of the MY’05 STI.

We are a bit further now,
Due some problems with my back, I’m at home now for a few weeks.
Hopefully I can go back to work in a few weeks
So sorting out some things for the P1.
Because I’m going to use the STI loom, i would like to have a Blackface cluster with the defi-style sweep
I found one at Ebay.co.uk and bought it.
Here are some pics with the difference between the two types of STI clusters

For those who don’t know what a blackface dial ishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY0uUjJ4AGE

And my front bumper is resprayed.
The previous owner started sanding the thing but it was done on a rude way, so they had to clean the whole bumper and started all over again.
Here are some pics of the result.

After that we fitted the drivetrain back in the P1.
Image

i had a lot of email conversations with Bren at Apex performance for a new suspension setup, i needed a coilover set for a GC8 but with the underbrackets for a MY05/06 STI(uses a pcd of 5x114,3) so in needed to be a custom thing.
I ordered the Apex performance inverted setup, with 6kg /5kg springs for the P1, superb service from Apex Performance, it was within 1,5 week from ordering and delivering at my door!!

The set is Custom made by Apex Performance from the UK.

I also took some time to undo the bottom of the car of sand, and some rusty points.
After that i putted the whole bottom in a bitume body coating.
And when that was dry fitted the new suspension parts.

also ordered a new seat for the P1, I'm thinking to mount it straight on the floor of the car. Like WRC style.

Also bought a set of STI Genome 60mm Defi gauges.

Also made a small footage, a walk around the P1.

Now im sorting out the wirings to connect the door wrings into the STI loom.
So if someone have the electrical wiring manuals of the P1 / STI type R V5/6, I'm going to be very happy.

You mean de STI Genome Gauges?
They are very very rare and very expensive indeed.
But they are so sexy  , maybe I will sell them next year and want a set of red BF Defi's matching my JDM STI cluster.

Yes, that's exactly right. I could have bought a set of used ones but they included the Water Temp gauge which I would have had to replace by either Oil Temp or Pressure. If you sell yours some day, please let me know.... ;-)
